Tess is an Iraq War veteran who returned home to recover as an alcoholic. She has a strained relationship with her sister Beth. However, the two temporarily reconcile and attend her sister Rose's bachelor party at her family's farm. Tess hates crowds and people at parties, so she only tolerates those around her. Tess distances herself from the group to avoid trouble and monitors the property managers, sensing that something is wrong. Beth thinks he's just trying to make a fuss and scare people. Later that night, Tess goes outside to be alone while the rest of the bachelorette party has fun with strippers. Rose comes out to check on Tess, but when Beth comes out too, she sees Rose comforting Tess and she becomes angry. She thought Tess was doing everything on her own, when Rose was actually indoors and she was supposed to be enjoying her bachelor party.
At that moment, the attackers beat the women and killed Rose with a crossbow. Tess carries Rose's body home and alerts the entire group. The confused women wondered what was going on as arrows continued to fly through the house, killing the stripper. Since Tess is the only one with combat training, she orders everyone to darken the house, barricade themselves, and find a way to call for help. When the women tried to call for help, Tess went outside and killed one of the attackers. She grabbed the attacker's wallet and had the women check on him, but no one recognized him. Tess leaves behind a pile of self-defense tools for the women.

Perry, one of the attackers, announces his presence and demands money from his house, but the women are confused by his demands. The women discuss their options and agree that Mia should run away to call for help. Before her departure, Mia tells Tess that she has had a crush on her since high school. Mia lures one of the men out while she flees to a nearby house, but she notices that she can't get through on the phone. Mia's pursuer catches up to her and she is forced to bludgeon him to death. As the remaining women wait for Tess to return, someone knocks on the door. Divya, another partygoer, opens the door, thinking it's Tess, but finds Perry and her men there.

Tess tries to take the janitor home, but one of the attackers appears and kills the janitor. Tess uses a pitchfork to kill the criminal. Back at the house, only Beth, Noel, and Bridget are still alive. Bridget tries to reason with Perry, but Perry slits her throat. While Perry searches the house, Noel offers oral sex to one of the kidnappers, Tim, in exchange for his freedom. While Noel pretends to be submissive, Tess returns and the women take down the last two men of Perry's gang. In the final showdown,
Tess finds Perry, who has found her lost wallet. The two get into an argument, and Tess stabs Perry. As the sun rises, Tess comes out of the house, beer in hand and covered in blood. As a result, Tess, Beth, Mia, and Noel survive the attack and return to town to seek help. However, Tess gave a different interpretation of the incident in her statement. Tess told authorities that her attackers captured her, killed several of her people, and attacked each other after finding her money. Tess explained that she managed to defeat two of her attackers in self-defense before they came to the city for her help. Although her sheriff did not believe her, Tess was allowed to release her (although her legal proceedings were pending). The story ends with Tess and Beth reconciling as sisters and Tess traveling with Mia to another destination. However, Tess' legal issues, the fate of the meth money, and why she made the false statement remain unclear.
