Safe House is a American action thriller film directed by Daniel Espinosa, written by David Guggenheim, and starring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds. The film follows Matt Weston (Reynolds), a junior CIA officer in Cape Town, South Africa, who is in charge of a safe house where the CIA is interrogating veteran agent Tobin Frost (Washington), who has been accused of treason. It depicts a place. When his hideout is attacked by mercenaries, Weston escapes under the care of Frost. As a team of hitmen who appear to be one step ahead of the pair pursue them across Cape Town, Weston wonders who to trust. Nevertheless, "Safe House" was a commercial success, grossing him $208 million worldwide against an $85 million budget. In Cape Town, South Africa, his young CIA agent Matt Weston works as a "housekeeper," an employee responsible for securing and maintaining his local CIA safe house during operations. Elsewhere in Cape Town, former CIA NOC agent turned international criminal Tobin Frost obtains a data storage device from renegade MI6 officer Alec Wade. A mercenary team attacks them and kills Wade. Frost flees in fear and surrenders to the American consulate. A team led by veteran Daniel Kiefer takes Frost to Weston's hideout and interrogates him for information before he is returned to the United States. Weston watches anxiously as Kiefer's team attacks Frost. Mercenaries led by Vargas attack the hideout and kill Kiefer and his team. Weston escapes with Frost. Weston contacts Barlow at CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia, along with Katherine Linklater, Kiefer's superior who is in charge of interrogating Frost, and CIA Deputy Director Harlan Whitford, who is overseeing the operation. Linklater ordered Weston to stand back and wait for instructions. Frost begins to manipulate Weston by claiming that someone within the CIA has leaked his location to the mercenaries and that if anything goes wrong, Weston will be forced to fail. Weston contacts Anna and tells her that her office is being threatened and suggests that she stay with her friends when she finds out her apartment is being watched. Barlow tells Weston to go to the Cape Town Stadium, where he finds a GPS device with the location of another hideout, but Frost distracts him and he escapes. Weston is arrested by the police, but he escapes and shoots the police. Weston contacts Langley and reports Frost's escape. Learning that Weston fired at the police, Linklater orders Weston to the nearest American embassy for questioning. When Whitford told him, "We continue from here," Weston warned him that Weston should be worried when Frost heard those words ("We continue from here"). So I decided to go after Frost myself. his own safety. Linklater and Barlow head to South Africa themselves. Along the way, Linklater suggests that Weston may have joined Frost, but Barlow refutes this. Weston meets with Anna and admits that he is with the CIA. Vargas' team attacks again and kills Carlos and his family, but Weston helps Frost escape. Weston brutally interrogates one of Vargas' injured mercenaries and reveals that Vargas is working for the CIA, which is trying to obtain Frost's memory device. While bandaging the wound, Frost tells Weston not to kill innocent people and tells how he was forced to kill an air traffic controller during the mission. He later learned that he had simply taken part in a conspiracy to assassinate a whistleblower who was supposed to expose criminal activity carried out by the CIA.

Weston takes Frost to a new safe house, where Weston holds his housekeeper Keller at gunpoint. Keller attacked Weston, seriously injuring him before Weston killed him. Frost revealed that the device contained evidence of corruption and bribery involving the CIA, MI6, and other intelligence agencies compiled from Mossad intelligence reports. Frost leaves Weston, and Weston passes out from blood loss. Meanwhile, Linklater informs Barlow of the existence of the device, but not its contents. Barlow kills her and goes to the safe house, where he reveals himself to be Vargas' employer. He confirmed that the file contained incriminating evidence against him and encouraged Weston to lie about the incident. Frost returns and kills Vargas' team, but is mortally wounded by Barlow. Weston then shoots and kills Barlow. While he dies, Frost gives Weston a file and says that he is a better man than Frost. Returning to the United States, Weston meets with Director Whitford and is told that he will be promoted, although he must remove a disgraceful fact about the CIA from his report.
